• Sensory Garden

The rain garden was installed in 2020 with the help of the Oregon Landscape Contractors Association, the nonprofit Depave, and many Sitton volunteers!

The Sitton School Schoolyard Stormwater Project depaved 3,000 square feet of asphalt from the school playground; created a pervious surface to infiltrate stormwater from 7,000 square feet of playground asphalt; planted 462 native plants and 2 trees within the project area, engaged the Urban Forestry Learning Landscapes program to plant more than 20 trees elsewhere on school grounds; provided stormwater based environmental education to Sitton Elementary School students, and engaged community volunteers, school staff, and students in the project.
